In the Middle Ages, it was widely known and also greatly admired, but for very different reasons. WebbTipton was a predominately a German-American community, in the Missouri Weinstrasse. [4] Tipton was an eastern terminus of the Butterfield Overland Mail when it was launched in 1858. The route was connected to St. Louis by the Pacific Railroad.
