I decide that a 2007 FXDL is a good midsize bike because they're beautiful and comfortable. Then I read about this dreaded "Dyna wobble" and I am wondering if this is something I should stay away from as a novice rider.
WebSteering head bearings. Get the factory service manual and either replace the bearings or repack the bearings and adjust the steering head. Also, swingarm bushings wear (and some Dynas had a problem with this) can contribute but I'm pretty sure it's gonna be the steering head. It feels like a slow rear end speed wobble.
WebApr 27, 2014 · Just my opinion: I notice that the death wobble only appears in Harleys with rubber-mounted engines, that is, the Road King and Dyna series. You don't hear of Fatboys with that problem. I think the frames as originally designed used the bolted engine to add rigidity.
